On October 4, 2009, the church had her 2nd Annual Stewardship Sunday with Pastor Job Bienes as the guest preacher. We thank the Lord for the clear teaching by Pastor Job of the Biblical bases of giving. The altars were full during invitation time.
Stewardship is being entrusted to manage the property of another. Biblically, each Christian is entrusted by God with time, talent, wisdom and wealth. These are not our own but His, and He demands that we use each of these for His glory.
The giving of tithes and offerings is part of the proper stewardship of our finances. By means of giving, each church member is blessed by God. This is promised in Mal. 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
Giving is also the means by which the church is financially sustained. 1 Cor. 10:14 says, “Even so hath the Lord ordained that they who preach the gospel should live of the gospel.“
When you give, you will see 3 things:
1. You will see God blessing you (you cannot outgive God);
2. You will see the church being enabled to do more for the ministry; and
3. You will increase your faith as you see the truth of God’s word.
